Job Duties:

 Design, debug, troubleshoot, and test 3D prototypes of pillar plates (microfluidic plates) using Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software to enable rapid, one-step fabrication of complex designs used to build medical diagnostic devices.

Identify issues in the manufacturing process via Root Cause Analysis and implement changes using knowledge of tooling and fabrication equipment, material, parts and manufacturing processes.

Optimize inventory to reduce costs and implement continuous improvement solutions.

Identify and implement new manufacturing technologies and equipment.

Automate manual protocols on liquid handlers to improve reliability and efficiency of the workflow.

Integrate the manufacturing processes by working with multidisciplinary teams to improve device performance.

Perform IQ/OQ/PQ for laboratory equipment and train incoming staff on safety measures and to troubleshoot mass spectrometry instruments in order to comply with Good Laboratory Practices.

Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC), develop process plans and participate in operational excellence activities.

Interface with the management, manufacturing, assembly, R&D teams to work towards company’s goals.

Coordinate with Application Scientists improve R&D and optimize manufacturing methods to boost signal-to-noise ratio on analytical instruments.

Write SOPs and training documents for instrument handling and maintenance.

Collect and maintain data adhering to quality standards for incoming semiconductor wafer lots and perform batch quality control for manufacturing processes.

Apply continuous improvement methods for the semiconductor fabrication process and document new manufacturing or engineering procedures.

 

Requirements:

Master’s degree and foreign equivalent Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field, with advance level courses of:

Micro/Nano Fabrication Techniques
Engineering Design Optimization
Product Design

 

Require six (6) months of experience in mechanical engineering.

Must have the following skills:

Research and evaluation of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment.
CAD/CAM/CAE tools and prototype development.
Design optimization techniques.
Data analysis and technical reporting.

 

Annual Salary: $121,000 - $130,000
